Interstellar Rodeo Edmonton unveils an unexpected addition to the 2015 lineup, with Kathleen Edwards, Luke Doucet and Joel Plaskett joining the bill together as this year’s Interstellar All Stars.

Kathleen Edwards made headlines when she quit the music business in February 2014 to start a coffee shop in Ottawa. You won’t see Edwards’ name on many festival posters this summer, so it is truly exciting that she will come to Interstellar Rodeo’s stage.

To add to the sense of occasion, Six Shooter’s own guitar slinging space cowboy Luke Doucet will join the All Star bill. With Whitehorse blazing up the radio charts and playing to huge crowds, Doucet’s solo gigs are also a rare event. Doucet’s appearance strengthens one of the through-lines of this year’s All Stars, the chance to see a genuine once in a lifetime performance.

Joel Plaskett comes to the All Stars as one of the most respected, celebrated and decorated musicians in this country. His live shows set a gold standard of awesomeness. Inventive, entertaining and hugely talented, Plaskett really is in a class by himself.

The All Stars feature presents the best songwriters on stage together, performing each other’s songs with a top-notch rocking backing band. Neither workshop nor supergroup, the All Stars finds the sweet spot that lets the music (and the magic) happen.

The #iRodeoYEG All Stars will perform on Sunday, July 26. Weekend passes and single day tickets are still available.
